Student Sports Chess Games were held in the reading room of natural, technical and economic literature on the 4th and 7th of April 2016. 12 teams competed from high schools competed (Dnipropetrovsk National University, National Mining University, the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine, University of Customs and Finance, Kryvyi Rih National University). 66 students participated in chess tournaments. 7 games was played. Each participant was given 10 minutes per game. Two tournaments took place: among boys and among girls. The DNU team won all offsets (Boys:E.Eliseev - 1st place, A.Chaban - 2nd place, A.Lyuseyko - 4th place. Girls: N.Rubin - 1st place, I.Tkach - 2nd place). A master of sports and seven candidates for master of sports took part in the tournament.
The staff of the Reading Room organized two exhibitions - "Chess Mosaics" and "Stadium of Health". Professional literature on the history of chess art was presented to visitors. Journal material show the basics of chess skill. Participants had the opportunity to choose a book from the Book Crossing.
