On November 28 the library received a gift to the 100th anniversary of the university. This is a monograph written by a leading engineer of Applied Mathematics Faculty, a former DNU graduate Volodimir Yakovlevich Burdyuk "Mathematical essays 1-5". In the foreword the author emphasizes that he recommends this book to everyone who teaches mathematics to future mathematicians. There are mathematical spaces in arithmetic, algebra, geometry and logic here. The monograph presents an original interpretation of Euler’s formula and another solution of a famous problem of four color theorem. Supplemented and corrected material of the previous author’s book "Mathematics without integrals (essays)" is also included in the monograph.
In a gift inscription Vladimir Yakovlevich wrote: "Long live DNU".
