French music is one of the most interesting and influenced European music cultures, which has its roots in the folklore of Celtic and German tribes who lived in ancient time on the territory of France. When France was formed in the period of Middle Ages, folk music traditions of many regions of the country were combined in French music. French music culture developed and interacted with music cultures of other European folks especially Italian and German. In the second half of the 20th century music stage of France was enriched by music traditions of natives from Africa. It is not separated from world music culture. It took new music tendencies and gave special French coloring to jazz, rock, hip hop and digital music. More..
