Book is one of the main means of learning, development and spiritual enjoyment. Communication with a book helps to gain certain knowledge, and accustoms to cultural values. On the days of school holidays pupils of the 10th form (school No. 134), under the supervision of a history teacher, a DNU graduate Vadim Medyanik, visited the scientific library.
Despite autumn cold, they seemed to add heat to our cool halls. Future students were told about historical milestones and modern development of the university library, they were instructed of the rules of using books and the library, they were also informed about new acquisitions. The head of the Fiction Department S.V. Sobol told about interesting publications in fiction. It was a great pleasure to see pupils’ knowledge and erudition. The guests received useful information from N.F. Vinokurova in Rare Books Department. They were delighted to see valuable book collections, private gifts and rare items from Prince G. Potemkin’s library. Pleasant impressions from communication were received not only by visitors, but also by the library employees.
